Videos: LAR Homeowners Testify and Public Works Presents Their LARs Report to Commissioners

The afternoon of June 9, Public Works presented their report with timeline and costs for potential inclusion of Eugene and Blue River LARs into the county road system. You can read in our last two blog posts:  my take, Commissioners Asked for a Roadmap. Public Works Delivered Roadblocks, and Liz’s take, The Community Deserves a More Honest, Comprehensive, and Equitable Analysis

In the morning, the public was able to testify. In this first video watch homeowners  Joshua Kielas, Mary Leoni, and Laura Shoe. Then stop the video and move down to the second one which will have skipped ahead to Linda Lovick’s testimony.

Linda Lovick:

Watch the afternoon presentation by Public Works to commissioners of their report estimating timeline and costs for potential inclusion of LARs into the county road system:

While there was much to be frustrated and angry about in this presentation, the commissioners recognized that solving the equity issue is important, and for the most part they asked good questions. We were also vey encouraged that their commets and questions reflected that they were listening to and taking in our testimony from the morning and on other dates.

We will write and post a response to commissioners soon addressing some of the points made.
